1. Mould readying.
A predetermined amount of polymer in powder form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and inserted within the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is crucial at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose value and durability, producing a poor item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which creates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is yet another procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the material.

4. The discharging or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the product within te mould has cooled effectively, the person taking care of the process can then remove the finalized item from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, supplying a series of exact products.
