1. Mould fitting.
A fixed quantity of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mould. The mold is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic manufacturing.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and placed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once within the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The rotation is done gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. One thing that is essential at this point is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and strength, making a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which develops bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the material within te mold has cooled correctly, the person handling the procedure can then take out the completed product from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, making a series of exact products.
