1. Mold prep work.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and placed inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. One thing that is essential at this point is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and strength, creating a weak item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which develops bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the component has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quickly, causing bending of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding phase.
Once the product inside te mould has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the procedure can then take out the finalized product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of similar product lines.
