The Rotomoulding Method Components

1. Mold readying.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once within the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per minute. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and durability, generating a faulty product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which produces bubbles in the completed item.

3. Mould cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mould. This is one more measure that relies a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
When the material inside te mould has cooled effectively, the person taking care of the operation can then remove the finished item from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, supplying a series of exact products.
