1. Mold readying.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and put within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per min. Something that is vital at this point is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and durability, making a poor product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another measure that depends a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quick, causing warping of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-molding phase.
When the component inside te mold has cooled effectively, the person handling the procedure can then take out the finalized product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of similar product lines.
