The Rotomolding Process in Detail

1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined measure of polymer in powder form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. 2. The heating up and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is crucial at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and strength, creating a poor item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the material.

4. The unloading or de-moulding phase.
When the material inside te mould has cooled successfully, the molder taking care of the procedure can then remove the finalized product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, making a series of exact products.
