1. Mould prep work.
A predetermined measure of polymer in particle form is filled into a hollow mould. The mould is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The color needed for the finished item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic engineering.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once within the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per min. One thing that is important at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and durability, creating a weak item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which creates bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is an additional measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the product.

4. The discharging or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the product within te mould has cooled adequately, the person taking care of the procedure can then take out the completed product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, supplying a number of identical items.
