1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined measure of polymer in powder form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. One thing that is crucial at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and strength, creating a weak item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which produces bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is another step that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quick, causing warping of the material.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
When the product inside te mould has cooled correctly, the molder managing the operation can then take out the finalized product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a number of similar items.
