1. Mold fitting.
A predetermined amount of polymer in grain form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mold is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and positioned into the oven.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose value and durability, generating a faulty product. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mould. This is one more procedure that depends a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding phase.
When the product inside te mould has cooled properly, the person taking care of the operation can then take out the finished product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, supplying a series of exact products.
