1. Mold readying.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and placed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per min. One thing that is essential at this point is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and strength, making a poor product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another measure that relies a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The removing or de-molding phase.
When the product within te mold has cooled effectively, the molder managing the operation can then take out the finalized product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, making a number of similar items.
