1. Mold readying.
A predetermined amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mould. The mold is usually made from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. Preheating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and placed within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per min. Something that is critical at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and strength, making a faulty product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is another step that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing bending of the material.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the component within te mould has cooled effectively, the person handling the process can then take out the finished product from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of exact items.
