1. Mold fitting.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 spins per minute. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and durability, producing a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which generates bubbles in the finished item.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quick, causing warping of the material.

4. The unloading or de-moulding step.
Once the component inside te mold has cooled properly, the person handling the process can then remove the finished product from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the start, giving a series of exact products.
