1. Mould preparation.

2. The heating and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. One thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and durability, producing a faulty product. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted properly, which creates bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the component has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another step that depends a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
When the component within te mould has cooled correctly, the person taking care of the operation can then extract the completed product from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, providing a series of identical items.
