1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined measure of polymer in grain form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The coloring wanted for the finished goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic manufacturing.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and positioned inside the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion phase.
Once within the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per minute. The main thing that is critical at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and durability, producing a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which produces bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is yet another step that depends a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding phase.
Once the material within te mould has cooled successfully, the molder taking care of the process can then extract the finished item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a number of similar product lines.
