1. Mould prep work.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per min. The main thing that is important at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and durability, generating a poor product. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which develops bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that relies a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing bending of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding step.
As soon as the material within te mould has cooled correctly, the molder taking care of the operation can then remove the finalized item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, supplying a series of exact products.
