1. Mould prep work.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted into the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion process.
Once inside the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. Something that is essential at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and durability, producing a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which produces bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is another step that depends a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the material within te mold has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the operation can then extract the completed product from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, supplying a series of similar products.
