1. Mold prep work.
A fixed amount of polymer in grain form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The coloration preferred for the final item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic manufacturing.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted within the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. The main thing that is vital at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and strength, creating a weak product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which produces bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional procedure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quickly, causing bending of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding step.
Once the product inside te mould has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the operation can then extract the completed item from the mold. The function is repeated from the beginning, supplying a series of identical product lines.
