1. Mold preparation.
A predetermined measure of polymer in particle form is filled into a hollow mould. The mold is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The coloring wanted for the finished item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this format of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and placed into the oven.

2. The heat and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose value and strength, producing a weak item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which generates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is another procedure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too rapidly, causing bending of the material.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
Once the material inside te mould has cooled correctly, the person handling the process can then remove the completed item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, making a number of similar products.
