1. Mold fitting.
A fixed volume of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mold is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The color needed for the final item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic production.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and placed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. Something that is crucial at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and strength, producing a weak product. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the component has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is yet another measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too rapidly, causing bending of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding step.
As soon as the material within te mold has cooled successfully, the person managing the procedure can then remove the completed item from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, providing a number of identical items.
