The Rotomoulding Procedure Components

1. Mold readying.
A predetermined quantity of polymer in powder form is filled into a hollow mould. The mold is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. 2. The heating and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. Something that is important at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and strength, producing a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the component has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quick, causing warping of the item.

4. The removing or de-molding step.
When the component inside te mold has cooled adequately, the molder managing the procedure can then extract the finalized item from the mold. The function is repeated from the start, giving a number of identical product lines.
