1. Mould prep work.
A fixed measure of polymer in grain form is filled into a hollow mould. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The color tone needed for the end goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic manufacturing.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and installed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. Something that is essential at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and durability, making a weak item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which develops bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is yet another measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-molding phase.
When the product within te mould has cooled adequately, the person taking care of the procedure can then take out the finalized product from the mold. The function is repeated from the beginning, making a series of exact products.
