The Rotomolding Method Components

1. Mould prep work.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once within the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. Something that is critical at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and durability, producing a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which develops bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the material has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is yet another step that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the product within te mould has cooled effectively, the person taking care of the process can then remove the finished product from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, supplying a series of identical product lines.
