1. Mould readying.
A fixed quantity of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and positioned inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The rotation is done gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. Something that is crucial at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and durability, producing a poor product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which creates bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is one more measure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The unloading or de-moulding phase.
Once the component inside te mold has cooled correctly, the person taking care of the process can then remove the finalized item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, making a number of exact product lines.
