The Rotomoulding Procedure Components

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is essential at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and strength, making a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which produces bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the material has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The removing or de-molding step.
As soon as the component within te mould has cooled effectively, the person handling the procedure can then take out the completed product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, making a series of exact items.
