1. Mould readying.
A predetermined volume of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. Something that is important at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and durability, generating a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which develops bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more procedure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding phase.
When the material within te mold has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the procedure can then take out the finalized item from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, making a number of identical products.
