1. Mould prep work.
A fixed volume of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. Preheating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and put into the oven.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mold is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. The main thing that is crucial at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and strength, producing a poor product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which develops bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quick, causing warping of the material.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
When the component inside te mould has cooled effectively, the person taking care of the process can then extract the completed item from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a number of similar products.
