1. Mold fitting.
A predetermined amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The color preferred for the finished product is pre compounded into the polymer. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic engineering.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and placed inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. The main thing that is vital at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and strength, producing a weak product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which creates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another step that relies a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too quick, causing bending of the product.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
When the material inside te mold has cooled properly, the molder taking care of the procedure can then remove the completed item from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, supplying a number of identical product lines.
