1. Mold prep work.

2. The heat and fusion process.
Once within the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 spins per minute. The main thing that is vital at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and strength, producing a weak item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which creates bubbles in the finished item.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mould. This is yet another procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The offloading or de-moulding step.
Once the product within te mould has cooled correctly, the person handling the operation can then remove the finalized item from the mould. The function is repeated from the beginning, giving a number of identical items.
