This moulding technique has been used since ancient times for creatingvseverl products. Egyptians as an example, employed rotational molding methods in the manufacturing of ceramics. 1. Mould prep work.
A fixed amount of polymer in particle form is filled into a hollow mold. The mold is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The coloring chosen for the end goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and durability, generating a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which develops bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding step.
When the product within te mold has cooled effectively, the person handling the procedure can then extract the finished product from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, providing a number of identical product lines.
