1. Mould readying.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. Something that is essential at this point is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and strength, creating a faulty product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which generates bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional procedure that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too fast, causing warping of the product.

4. The offloading or de-moulding step.
When the material inside te mold has cooled effectively, the molder taking care of the procedure can then take out the completed item from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, providing a number of identical items.
