The Rotomolding Process Components

1. Mold readying.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. One thing that is critical at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and durability, making a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mold. This is an additional step that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too quick, causing warping of the product.

4. The removing or de-molding phase.
When the component inside te mold has cooled effectively, the molder managing the procedure can then remove the finished item from the mould. The process is repeated from the beginning, making a number of exact items.
