1. Mold fitting.
A fixed measure of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mould. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The coloring preferred for the finished item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this format of plastic engineering.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. One thing that is important at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and durability, creating a poor item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is another measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the material.

4. The removing or de-molding step.
As soon as the component inside te mould has cooled successfully, the person taking care of the operation can then remove the finalized item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a series of exact products.
