1. Mold readying.
A fixed amount of polymer in powder form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then locked and placed within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. One thing that is vital at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and durability, making a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing bending of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
When the component within te mold has cooled properly, the person handling the operation can then take out the finalized item from the mould. The process is repeated from the beginning, making a series of identical product lines.
