1. Mold readying.
A fixed amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and strength, creating a weak item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that depends a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-molding phase.
When the component within te mould has cooled successfully, the person managing the operation can then take out the finalized item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, supplying a series of similar items.
