1. Mold readying.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and placed within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. One thing that is important at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and strength, generating a weak product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the component has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is yet another measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
Once the component inside te mold has cooled successfully, the person handling the process can then extract the completed item from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the start, giving a number of exact product lines.
