1. Mould preparation.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and durability, making a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which produces bubbles in the finished item.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is yet another procedure that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the item.

4. The removing or de-molding phase.
When the product within te mold has cooled effectively, the person handling the process can then take out the finalized item from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, making a series of exact products.
