1. Mold fitting.
A fixed amount of polymer in grain form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually built from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per minute. One thing that is vital at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and strength, making a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted properly, which produces bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the component has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another measure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too fast, causing warping of the product.

4. The offloading or de-molding step.
Once the component within te mold has cooled properly, the molder taking care of the operation can then take out the completed product from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the start, making a number of similar product lines.
