1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined amount of polymer in powder form is filled into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this format of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. Something that is crucial at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and strength, producing a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is one more measure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding step.
As soon as the product inside te mold has cooled effectively, the person taking care of the process can then remove the completed item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, providing a number of exact products.
