1. Mould prep work.
A fixed volume of polymer in grain form is packed into a hollow mould. The mold is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The color chosen for the finished item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic assembly.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and durability, making a weak item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which produces bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too rapidly, causing bending of the item.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the component inside te mold has cooled successfully, the molder taking care of the operation can then extract the finished item from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, making a series of exact products.
